I’m excited that today is the release of BlackBerry’s jump into the tablet market with it’s PlayBook! My first impression of the PlayBook when it was announced, was:
a) Why would I need a tablet and
b) Very impressive tech specs.
My impression on the other hand of the first Apple iPad, was similar. The only difference was ,since I am into technology, I was focused more on specifics that the iPad lacked. I thought that I should hold off and watch the tablet landscape with the hints of this year being full of tablets!

What this release of the BlackBerry PlayBook means to me is the device’s development environment is based on the knowledge I have of Adobe AIR and the Actionscript 3 programming language.
Here is a video that is an overview of Adobe’s tooling and solutions for the BlackBerry PlayBook. This excites me for the future of the BlackBerry PlayBook and the plethora of tablets this 2011!
